The game will continue the course of the first part.

Since the announcement of Stellar Blade: Blood Rain, the comparison of Ivy with Eve, the heroine of the original Stellar Blade, has been actively discussed online. Some players have already called the new heroine a "downgrade," but the Shift Up management considers such assessments premature. In an interview with IGN, the studio's CEO and series creator Kim Hyung-tae emphasized that Ivy was originally conceived as a completely different character.

According to Kim, the new heroine is younger, shorter, and has a more compact physique compared to Eve. At the same time, she has a much tougher character and participates in dangerous operations as part of a special squad hunting a terrorist group that carries out attacks throughout the city.

The developer noted that although he still likes Eve's image from the first game, Ivy's attractiveness will be built not only on appearance. According to him, players will see the character through her personality, manner of communication, and fighting style, which should make the heroine memorable and charismatic in her own way.

Special attention in the interview was paid to Ivy's costumes. The original Stellar Blade has repeatedly been the subject of discussions due to Eve's revealing outfits. When Kim was asked about the new heroine's wardrobe, he limited himself to a brief comment, stating that Ivy's outfits would be "even more attractive".

Thus, judging by the developers' statements, Blood Rain will continue the course of the first part, combining action and overtly sexualized character design. Given the players' strong reaction to Ivy's debut show, the topic of the heroine's appearance will likely remain one of the most discussed until the game's release.
