19 Jun 20:28Obsidian Entertainment's game greatly pleased the developer.
Daniel Vavra, the creator of Kingdom Come: Deliverance and Mafia, not only plays fresh releases but also recalls some previously released projects. In June, he decided to share his thoughts on Obsidian's game on social media.
According to the developer, he hadn't played Pentiment until recently and considered it a very "arthouse" project. However, he has now finally experienced the game, and his opinion has changed:
I have to admit something unpleasant: although Pentiment is a game seemingly made specifically for me, I hadn't played it until now because at first glance it seemed too "arthouse" to me. Only yesterday I decided to fix this – and I must tell you, it's simply amazing and captivating, and its style works wonderfully.
Daniel Vavra said that what he liked most was that it was "exactly my type of design" – in Pentiment, you have to make decisions with far-reaching consequences:
[...the design is] maximally non-linear, requiring irreversible decisions with far-reaching consequences and forcing you to truly carefully consider every step. In fact, Pentiment could well have been made as a visually hyper-realistic first-person adventure, like a quest line in KCD, but is that really important?
Fans suggested that Vavra now try playing the remake of the first "Gothic".
