New blow to gamers: ADATA predicts a jump in DRAM and SSD prices

ADATA predicts a 20-30% increase in DRAM contract prices and a 35-40% increase in NAND Flash prices as early as next quarter.

Following Samsung's recent forecast of further price increases for DRAM and NAND memory, ADATA issued a similar warning. The company expects contract prices for DRAM to rise by 20–30% and NAND Flash by 35–40% as early as next quarter.

During a meeting with investors, ADATA representatives stated that the company would reduce memory supplies for the consumer market, focusing on corporate clients. Large orders from AI-powered data centers will be prioritized.

Micron believes that the shortage of DRAM and NAND supplies will continue at least until the end of 2027. An improvement in the situation is expected only in 2028 and will be gradual.

This could lead to further price increases for gaming hardware, making it more difficult for many buyers to afford new consoles. According to some analysts, this is why Sony allegedly abandoned the disc drive in the base version of the PS6 to keep the price below $1000. It is likely that Sony and Microsoft will not rush to release a new generation of consoles.
