Bethesda announced Fallout remasters, while TES IV: Oblivion Remastered players haven't received patches for over a year
Some try to fix the PC version of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered with mods, but this cannot be done on consoles.
In July, Bethesda Game Studios delighted fans of the Fallout franchise. The developers announced several new projects at once, and also stated that they were working on remasters of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas.
Meanwhile, fans of another franchise are not particularly happy. The Elder Scrolls VI has been in development for many years and still has no release date or release window, and for TES IV: Oblivion Remastered, which was presented last year, no patches have been released for over a year, although the remaster has still not been fixed.
After the announcement of the Fallout remasters, players like BenBeyaz became concerned that the Oblivion remaster would never receive another patch, as resources have likely already been fully reallocated among other games.
However, some reminded that TES IV: Oblivion was handled by Virtuos. Nevertheless, the fact that the remaster was "abandoned" was remembered by players. Icelightning250 stated that he would not take on new projects if this studio was responsible for their support:
That's why I won't buy Fallout 3 and New Vegas remasters if Virtuos makes them. It's a shame they don't fix the performance issues with Oblivion Remastered.
Over time, the rating of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered on PC in Steam has grown and the overall reviews are "mostly positive" (75%), but recent ones are "mixed", some players still complain about technical problems.
For example, user try_gaymer describes his experience as follows:
Prologue in the dungeon 150 fps. Upon exiting into the open world 19 fps. Because the SUN IS SHINING. The last patch from the developers was a year ago. You can fix the game, but you have to do it yourself. Refund [...].
