Gotham Overrun by Crime: Prime Video Reveals Villains of "Batman: Caped Crusader" Season Two

Gotham residents warned of a sharp rise in crime.

In honor of the premiere of the second season of the animated series "Batman: Caped Crusader," Prime Video released a teaser dedicated to a new wave of crime in Gotham. The video is styled as a news broadcast, with anchors warning citizens about the threats Gotham, and thus the Dark Knight, will face.

The video features the Riddler, the Mad Monk, Thorn, and Mister Zero — an early version of the villain later known as Mister Freeze. They will be joined by Scarecrow, Roxy Rocket, Blockbuster, and other Batman adversaries.

The creators gave special attention to the Joker, voiced by "House of the Dragon" star Matthew Needham. The creators were inspired by German Expressionism and the image of silent film actor Conrad Veidt, so the new Clown Prince turned out to be colder, more restrained, and more sinister. This approach, apparently, pleased critics who have already seen the season.

All ten episodes of the second season of "Batman: Caped Crusader" are now available on Prime Video.
