FromSoftware significantly improved the Switch 2 version of Elden Ring before release
The Duskbloods will get proper optimization, it seems.
FromSoftware has significantly improved the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Elden Ring compared to last year's build. The game was originally planned for release on Nintendo's new console last year, but the developers decided to postpone the release to avoid compromising the quality of the port. Now, Elden Ring: Tarnished Edition is set to be released on August 28.
New gameplay footage was published by Japanese publications Famitsu and Denfaminico Gamer. The videos demonstrate the game's performance in both docked and handheld modes. Judging by the presented materials, the project runs significantly more stable in docked mode than in last year's version.
The game doesn't reach 60 frames per second, but in most of the shown scenes, it maintains around 30 fps. Moreover, in docked mode, there are almost no noticeable stutters even during large-scale boss battles.
In handheld mode, the situation is somewhat more complex. Overall, the game also demonstrates acceptable performance, but during boss battles, individual frame rate drops can be observed. There are still about ten days left until release, so developers can potentially further optimize the game with a final patch.
