Minecraft to Go Beyond Familiar Boundaries: Mojang to Add a Fourth Dimension

In 2027, Minecraft will receive a new dimension, The Sift, for the first time in over 14 years, becoming the game's fourth official world.

The new world, The Sift, will appear in Minecraft in both Java Edition and Bedrock Edition. During Minecraft LIVE, the developers showed a small fragment of The Sift and one of its inhabitants. The developers have not yet revealed how to open a passage there, what resources can be found, and what dangers await players.

The first details emerged thanks to Minecraft Dungeons II, where The Sift will be added earlier. It is a colorful and vibrant world, inhabited by souls, with regions called Meadow and Carapace. It is currently unknown which elements from Minecraft Dungeons 2 will transfer to the main game. The appearance of a new dimension for the first time in over 14 years could significantly change Minecraft exploration.
