Chinese developers released a Resident Evil counterpart on Steam featuring heroine dress-up, breast customization, and troubled stealth

Following the release of Black Myth: Wukong, players have begun paying more attention to projects from Chinese developers. MetalStar Studio offered intriguing ideas with rough-around-the-edges execution.

Recently, the project 致命解药 (or The Killing Antidote) was launched in Steam Early Access. It is something of a Resident Evil counterpart.

In the world of The Killing Antidote, there is a special germ that caused people to become infected and mutate. The main protagonist, Jodi, is a journalist investigating the story behind the incident and searching for an antidote. The game features a melee combat system and shooting, but many are drawn not by the gameplay, the ~5-hour story, or the challenges, but rather by the local character editor with breast customization and outfits.

In The Killing Antidote Steam community, numerous screenshots of the heroine from various angles and in diverse outfits have already been posted. Some describe the game as “Resident Evil, but the mods are already installed.”

However, not everything is smooth sailing. A noticeable number of players had complaints regarding the stealth segment, and the developer posted an apology separately in the description of The Killing Antidote on Steam:

“There were serious design issues with the stealth part of the game, and we urgently made changes by removing some of the enemies. However, this turned out to be insufficient, and we are making further adjustments to this part. The revised plan is to remove the entire stealth part, [giving players the option to] obtain a bow and arrows in advance to start killing enemies. And enemies will no longer call for reinforcements after an "alarm", leaving only a fixed number of enemies. We will complete the modification as soon as possible.”
