Although the exact release date for Judas has not yet been announced, Ken Levine noted that the team is working hard on the project, striving to avoid delays.
Ghost Story Games has shared new details about Judas, which is being developed under the leadership of Ken Levine, the creator of the cult series BioShock. In a recent post on the PlayStation blog, Levine talked about a key feature of the game called Villainy, which makes the gameplay unique and dependent on the player's actions.
Judas takes place on the spaceship "Mayflower," where the player controls a mysterious heroine named Judas. Unlike BioShock and BioShock Infinite, where villains such as Fontaine or Comstock always remained antagonists, in Judas, the player's choice directly affects the plot. At the heart of the story are three key characters called the Big 3 (Tom, Nefertiti, and Hope). They observe the player's actions, reacting to their approach to combat, hacking computer systems, crafting items, and, most importantly, interacting with other characters. The player can win their favor, but if they neglect one of them, they can become a villain, gaining new abilities to thwart your goals.
Recently, the Ghost Story Games team completed an important stage of development related to the Villainy mechanics and conducted the largest playtest to date. Testers shared valuable feedback on the impact of player decisions on the plot, character motivations, and the emotional impact of moments when the Big 3 either helped or opposed the player.
The developers also presented the key art of the game, which, according to the team, contains many details hinting at the world of Judas.
