Not only will the ASUS ROG Xbox Ally receive the new proprietary Xbox Full-Screen Experience interface, but Lenovo users will have to wait a bit.
Lenovo has confirmed that its new handheld device, the Legion Go 2, will receive support for the Xbox Full-Screen Experience — an interface from Microsoft adapted for gaming on Windows devices. However, this will only happen in the spring of 2026, while the console itself will go on sale in October of this year.
This was reported by Lenovo representative Jeff Witt in a comment to The Verge. According to him, users will be able to manually activate Xbox FSE as soon as the interface becomes available. Until then, the Legion Go 2 will run on the standard version of Windows 11.
The new Xbox shell was created in collaboration with ASUS and will first appear on October 16 — simultaneously with the release of the ROG Xbox Ally portable console. This console will be the first to have the system pre-installed and active "out of the box." Owners of other devices, including the Legion Go 2, will be offered the option to switch to FSE later. It is not yet known which other devices will be able to receive the new shell.
The Lenovo Legion Go 2 was presented at the IFA exhibition in Berlin and became a noticeable update compared to the original model. The device is equipped with an 8.8-inch OLED display, detachable controllers in the style of the Nintendo Switch, an improved battery, and an AMD Ryzen Z2 Extreme chip — the same one used in the ROG Ally X. The base version will cost $1099, the flagship configuration — $1349.
