From Idea to Script: Bombora Opens Pre-order for the Book "How Games Are Written"

In December, readers from Russia will be able to understand, thanks to the book "How Games Are Written. Theory, Cases, and Practice for a Game Writer," why the story is the soul of the game, and not just an addition to the gameplay. The author of the publication is Hannah Nicklin, the scriptwriter of the adventure project Mutazione.

The publishing house "Bombora" has announced that pre-orders are open for the book "How Games Are Written. Theory, Cases, and Practice for a Game Writer" by Hannah Nicklin. Currently, in certain places, it can be bought for 1729 rubles.

This book is a kind of "workshop" for scriptwriters of game worlds, especially those who create in the indie format. The author draws a clear line between screenwriting and narrative design, and then invites you behind the scenes of the craft: shows how to build plot structures and manage the processes of creating a story.

The reader will have at his disposal a full-fledged "toolbox" – from the basics of game writing to the practice of team synergy and feedback collection systems. All this is supported by all sorts of exercises and cases from games such as Mutazione, Life is Strange 2, 80 Days and Last Stop.

The release of this publication is expected in December 2025.
