Some players are awaiting the return of a beloved character in the new installment of the franchise.
The creators of Resident Evil Requiem have already presented several promotional materials showcasing the main character, Grace. However, some "insiders" have been spreading information about Leon's appearance in the game and continue to insist on it.
Then, an image of Leon with one eye "leaked" online — supposedly in RE Requiem, the character will appear aged and with an eyepatch.
During a conversation with stevivor, the game's producer, Masato Kumazawa, commented on these rumors:
Aside from the official information released by Capcom, everything else is more like detective work [something "blown up" by players]. So I would advise not to take everything at face value.
He noted that with the development of AI tools, more opportunities have emerged for creating fake materials:
Given that now is a time when AI [can be used to create] videos and photos, we don't know what is true and what is not. Players are simply free to believe what they want; I want to say: until Capcom officially releases the game, we cannot give you any confirmation.
Recently, an image of Leon with an eyepatch appeared, and it was claimed that there would be DLC or a new costume for Leon — just to clarify: this is all fake news.
