Some buyers used the refund function and encountered problems.
To play Escape from Tarkov via Steam, you need to purchase the project even for those who previously pre-ordered on the developer's website. Faced with technical problems, some decided to return the money for "Tarkov" and soon alarming messages began to appear online.
EFT community members began talking about "refund bans" — allegedly, after returning funds for the Steam version, their main Battlestate Games account, on which they previously purchased the game, was blocked.
It was also claimed that even those users who did not link Steam to this account were banned, which gave rise to theories about blocking by IP or "hardware".
Nikita Buyanov came out with a refutation. According to him, only cheaters are subject to blocking:
People say that if you apply for a refund on Steam, you will be blocked by IP or your main account, on which the game was purchased through the Tarkov website, will be banned — this is a lie and complete nonsense. Now we are only blocking those users who are trying to cheat.
