Audio designer at Sandfall Interactive, Raphael Joffre, revealed an unusual detail about the Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 soundtrack — some songs may actually reveal plot details ahead of time if you listen closely to their lyrics.
The very first composition hides a spoiler for the ending. When you start the game in Lumiere, the first song already tells you everything. But it's done in such a way that you don't understand the meaning. You think, "Oh, she's just talking about something..." when in reality it's about the final bosses.
The developer explained that the spoilers are "encrypted" thanks to a combination of French, English, and a fictional language. At the beginning of the game, most of the lyrics are in the artificial language, so players cannot fully understand the meaning.
As you progress through the story, the lyrics become clearer. By the finale, as Joffre noted, the soundtrack features full-fledged compositions in English.
After the panel, journalists directly asked the developer why the studio decided to hide key plot hints directly in the music. According to him, this was done specifically for repeat playthroughs.
