The Lord of the Rings: Ascension Board Game Prepares for Gamefound Crowdfunding Campaign

Fans of the deck-building game Ascension and The Lord of the Rings universe have a reason to celebrate, as a crowdfunding campaign for The Lord of the Rings: Ascension board game is set to launch this summer. The project has not yet been priced, but players already have the opportunity to watch the announcement trailer for the new game.

Ascension is an entire universe created by game designer Justin Gary, which originated with the classic eponymous deck-building game from 2010. The mechanics of this board game have not aged a bit, and over 15–16 years, it has successfully stood the test of time.

It has now been announced that in the summer of 2026, Stone Blade Entertainment plans to launch a campaign for The Lord of the Rings: Ascension board game, designed for 1–4 players, on the Gamefound crowdfunding platform.

The game will send gamers on an adventure through Middle-earth across three interconnected Ascension sets. It features famous Ascension mechanics, re-imagined to capture the beauty of The Lord of the Rings — from legendary heroes and villains to the corrupting influence of the One Ring.

Users will be able to encounter elves, men, dwarves, hobbits, and the forces of Mordor, recruit characters, acquire cards, build strategies, resist the power of the Ring, and create their own fellowship.

Players can already watch the trailer for this game on YouTube to prepare in advance for the upcoming campaign on Gamefound.
