In Two Days, Valve Imported 50 Tons of "Game Consoles" from China to the USA
There is a presumption that the containers hold Steam Decks.
Valve may be preparing for the imminent launch of a new device — at least, fresh import data suggests so. According to The Verge, in two days — from April 30 to May 1 — about 50 tons of products, labeled as "game consoles," were imported into the USA.
This is just part of a larger trend: over the past two months, the company's supply volumes have significantly increased, approaching 100 tons. After a lull observed immediately after the 2025 Christmas period, Valve's logistics have become active again. Shipments were delivered from China to the ports of Los Angeles and Tacoma on vessels such as Ever Logic and Ever Shine.
Notably, the new batches differ in weight from previous ones. While a standard 40-foot container with Valve products previously weighed about 14.5 tons (including up to 42 packages), recent shipments show a decrease to approximately 12.6 tons for the same number of packages. This may indicate a change in the type of device inside the containers.
There is a presumption that this is not an additional batch of Steam Deck, but new devices — for example, Steam Machine or even Steam Frame. Although it is important to note: Steam Deck is also classified as a "game console" upon import, so there is no complete certainty about the contents of the shipments yet.
If we consider the declared weight of a Steam Machine — about 2.6 kg per device — current shipments could correspond to less than 20 thousand consoles. Moreover, this number could be even lower if we consider kits with accessories like controllers.
