Denuvo cracked in Stellar Blade without using a hypervisor - 10 months after PC release

The fight against DRM protection continues. Now there's a full-fledged Denuvo crack in Stellar Blade.

The PC version of Stellar Blade was released in early June last year. The game was protected with the infamous Denuvo protection system.

Earlier this year, the game was cracked using the popular "hypervisor" method. Not all players approve of it, as activating such "cracks" requires disabling the computer's security systems, which creates additional threats.

However, in May, a hacker under the nickname voices38 reappeared, announcing the crack of Stellar Blade — he uses an "old school" approach. voices38 actually cracks the protection, rather than just "bypassing" it. From the system's point of view, it looks as if the player has a legitimate license key.

This release by voices38 is also notable because he made it possible to launch the cracked PC version of Stellar Blade without the PlayStation Network SDK installed. The hacker did not disclose the details of his cracking approach.

Previously, voices38 dealt with Denuvo protection in another high-profile game — Black Myth: Wukong.

It recently became known that this DRM will also be added to LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. Players expect that the hacker will eventually take on this game as well.
