Take-Two intends to unearth hackers who leaked GTA VI footage. Discord and Microsoft will be involved in the search
The company does not intend to change its advertising campaign.
Take-Two Interactive has initiated legal action to identify the individuals behind the recent massive leaks of Grand Theft Auto VI materials. The company has issued subpoenas to Microsoft and Discord through the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
Take-Two demands that both companies provide internal documents and records that could help identify the alleged infringers. This refers to GTA VI materials, including videos, images, illustrations, dialogues, and other game elements.
From Microsoft, the company seeks data related to an internal investigation into the activities of a user or group known by the pseudonym Cyberleek. Specifically, Take-Two is interested in information about associated accounts, as well as data on devices and user activity where certain files and tools were found.
The request lists account identifiers, email addresses, registration and last login IP addresses, phone numbers, linked accounts such as Google and Xbox, device identifiers, as well as GTA, Rockstar, and Cyberleek related materials from OneDrive.
Discord, in turn, must provide information about user accounts that were members of or communicated in servers related to CYBERLEEK, CINEMATICROCKSTAR, and Surfer24k™, as well as alternative names cyberleek_west and surwest. The request also includes the servers and communities Ødyssey.gg, the public server "! Odyssey", and the DarkViperAU editors' server.
Take-Two demands that the requested information be provided by September 4, 2026.
