A difficult period is coming for fans of Ubisoft games. According to insider Tom Henderson, the publisher does not plan to show new projects until mid-2026.
This means that, apart from the already announced Anno and the story addition to Assassin's Creed Shadows, which will be released in September, the company will not have any major premieres or presentations.
The decision is associated with the restructuring of the company and financial problems. Despite good sales of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Ubisoft is recording low stock market indicators and is restructuring. Instead of high-profile announcements, the company is focusing on supporting existing games and transferring them to new platforms. For example, Star Wars Outlaws is expected to be released on Switch 2 in 2025.
In practice, this means a delay in major releases. The remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and the updated Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag are expected only in the second half of 2026. Splinter Cell Remake and the new part of Ghost Recon, about which nothing has been heard yet, are in a similar situation.
Previously, Ubisoft presented large-scale projects long before their release, creating long advertising campaigns. Now the course has shifted to stabilizing the business. For players, this will result in a long wait, but there is a chance that future releases will be more elaborate.
