The first chapter of Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase Six has become the company's most successful release in 2025.
Marvel and Disney's "Fantastic Four: First Steps" has surpassed $505 million in global box office revenue in its sixth week of release. Of this, $240.5 million comes from international distribution, including $4.4 million collected over the past weekend. The box office decline was only 29% compared to the previous week, indicating stable audience interest in key markets.
The film ranks eighth in international box office revenue for the first eight months of the year. Among all Marvel projects in 2025, the film has become the most successful in terms of revenue.
"Fantastic Four: First Steps" opens Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and presents an alternative version of the team from Universe 828. Unlike previous studio projects, the plot does not require familiarity with other films and develops separately from the main MCU timeline — this decision is explained by a decrease in audience interest in large-scale crossovers.
The film used visual and stylistic techniques of 1960s retrofuturism and the "Silver Age" of Marvel comics. The plot is presented in a simplified form: the formation of the team is shown conditionally, in the format of a television show, and the emphasis is on the relationships between the characters and the theme of family.
