The genius hopes that his projects give people "good role models".
Last weekend, the Italian city of Lucca hosted the Lucca Comics & Games 2025 festival, which Hideo Kojima visited. He took part in a special panel with two actors from Death Stranding 2: On the Beach - Luca Marinelli (Nils Vana) and Alissa Jung (Lucy).
Most of the discussion was devoted to the experience of working on Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, including filming during the pandemic. However, Kojima also shared more personal thoughts about his motivation as a creator.

If someone plays my game and thinks a few years later: "I want to keep living because this game cheered me up," that would be the greatest happiness for me. I put this thought into creating games
