The developers will continue to deliver new content and more.
Crytek recently shared its plans for the end of 2025 and the following year, publishing a roadmap for Hunt Showdown 1896.
In 2025, they plan to release new story challenges and expand customization options for Hunters. Update 2.6 will also introduce a limited-time event.
They also shared their vision for 2026 — it is "built on one solid promise to players: to give you more ways to live, fight, and express yourself in the bayous and the Broken Heartland."
Some of the developers' plans:
- Return of old content with changes, for example, a reworked special condition "Hellfire" will appear
- Requests for Tier 3 Hunters have been heard — "They will return in stages: while remaining tied to free progression systems, they will also become part of new experimental unlock formats for variety and rewards"
- The seasonal model will be improved: "Your positive feedback on long Battle Passes has shown that this is the right direction for the health of the game and the interest of Hunt players"
- Increasing the number of players in one mission and working on optimization (performance)
- Improving systems to combat cheaters
- Ensuring "fair matchmaking"
