Disney has decided to focus on promoting other releases and not include Marvel projects in the Super Bowl LX advertising block.
As Deadline reports, in 2026 Marvel Studios will skip the United States' biggest sporting event — Super Bowl LX. According to the publication, trailers for "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" and "Avengers: Doctor Doom" will not appear in the broadcast's advertising block.
It is claimed that parent company Disney decided to bet on promoting other projects. These include "Toy Story 5," a new animated release from Pixar, as well as the film "The Mandalorian and Grogu."
The media is also discussing the version that Marvel considered the cost of the advertising slot — about $10 million for 30 seconds — excessively high. At the same time, some sources note that these films may not require promotion at the Super Bowl.
Thus, "Avengers: Doctor Doom" is already being called one of the most anticipated films of the year in the United States, and Marvel's recent online campaign with weekly teasers on YouTube exceeded the studio's internal expectations. This could have influenced the decision to forgo participation in the Super Bowl. It is expected that the trailer for the new "Spider-Man" will also draw a colossal audience even without additional advertising investment.
