The latest episode set a new season record and noticeably fueled interest in HBO's project.
The new series "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms," based on George R. R. Martin's tales of Dunk and Egg, continues to gain momentum. The third episode, released today, received a 9.3 rating on IMDb — noticeably higher than the scores of the first episodes (8.1 and 8.3).
Viewers are calling the series the "show of the year," noting the genuinely strong chemistry between the characters, while the only serious complaint is the short runtime of the episodes. At the same time, the creators are being praised for not stretching out an already small original source, but instead adapting it consistently and with attention to detail, enhancing the material through cinematic techniques.
According to FlixPatrol, "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms" ranks second among the most-watched shows on HBO Max and holds the lead in 26 countries. In the United States, the series trails only "The Pitt," but the gap between the projects is gradually narrowing.
It also became known today that HBO moved the premiere of the fourth episode. The episode will be released on February 6 on HBO Max — two days earlier than originally scheduled. The decision is related to a desire to avoid competition with the Super Bowl final.
A total of six episodes are planned for the first season of "A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms." At the same time, HBO is already working on the second season.
