This would justify another price increase for the subscription.
Microsoft may be preparing to expand the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription amid a recent price increase to $30 per month. The price hike, which took effect on October 1, 2025, caused a wave of discontent among some of the audience, despite the bonuses already included in the plan, such as Fortnite Crew and Ubisoft+ Classics.
Two weeks ago, The Verge reported, citing sources in the company, that Microsoft is considering adding new third-party services to Ultimate to increase the value of the subscription. Now, new rumors have emerged.
Windows Central editor Jez Corden stated during a recent stream that the company is also exploring the option of integrating its own subscription services. According to him, the potential inclusion of services such as World of Warcraft, Minecraft Realms, Fallout 76 (Fallout 1st subscription), and The Elder Scrolls Online Plus in Game Pass Ultimate is being discussed.
Corden emphasized that such a move could significantly increase the attractiveness of the Ultimate plan for $30. In his opinion, it is now a "race against time" for Microsoft — the company needs to convince players that the updated price is justified.
