Developers of Samson: A Tyndalston Story don't make a "GTA killer" and believe that the projects will be able to coexist in the market.
Recently, the co-founder of Liquid Swords studio, which is now preparing to release Samson: A Tyndalston Story, spoke with PC Gamer.
Christopher Sundberg shared his opinion about Grand Theft Auto. He believes that the games of the franchise "have always been a phenomenon" that goes beyond ordinary video games:
They literally compete with all entertainment content. I have enormous respect for Rockstar and what they have done for the industry, because every time a new GTA game comes out, it's like Christmas for everyone. It's like the release of a new iPhone: something appears that huge masses of people desperately want, even those who don't usually play video games. They buy [GTA] because when it comes out, it starts to be talked about everywhere.
The developers want to make Samson: A Tyndalston Story the game that gamers will want to launch "alongside" GTA 6, and not instead of it:
There are times when you want to put GTA aside and take something else. And I see Samson as something like those old days when action movies lasted 90 minutes, not more than two hours. I constantly return to films like Die Hard, Ronin, Rambo. I think there is a place for us in this niche, and that is where I want to get.
