"It's Not Minecraft": GTA IV Creator Releases God Simulator on Steam That Helps a Tribe Survive
Players will be able to shape the landscape and observe changes in the game world.
Obbe Vermeij, former technical director at Rockstar North, sometimes shares memories of working on Grand Theft Auto games on social media. However, he recently decided to talk about his new project.
In early May, Plentiful was released on PC via Steam in "early access" format, which he positions as a "nature sandbox." It's a God simulator game: players are invited to shape the landscape of a world where everything reacts – water, plants, animals, and people. The survival of the tribe depends on the players' actions:
Grow food, sustain wildlife, and help your tribe survive by managing resources, observing seasonal changes, and countering natural disasters. Each level offers a new landscape with its own challenges and many ways to solve them.
In the current version, the campaign can already be completed from start to finish, and additional modes are available: "Creative," "Survival," and "Endless."
Some users, due to the graphics, thought it was "Minecraft with hexes," but Obbe clarified that it's a completely different game and "there's no Steve here."
The Plentiful page on Steam is available at the following link. The game is expected to remain in "early access" for 6 months.
