Blizzard heard players and decided to bring back the "toxic" emote in Hearthstone
Players will have the opportunity to "apologize" to their opponent.
Recently, fans of the collectible card game Hearthstone "took over" social media. They started spreading posts with the hashtag "#BringBackSorry". In this way, players wanted to urge for the ability to use the "Sorry" emote.
Previously, players could freely use it in matches. Often, the "Sorry" emote was used for "toxic" purposes — community members trolled their opponent, for example, by "apologizing" after a very successful card combination.
Blizzard Entertainment reacted to fan posts. The official Hearthstone game account published a post:
By popular demand, we're bringing back the "Sorry" emote! Well... sort of! #BringBackSorry
The developers showed the card "Gullible Guardian". Its Deathrattle (an effect that triggers after a minion dies): "In this match, you can say 'Sorry'."
Thus, the legendary "Sorry" is returning to Hearthstone in some way.
Earlier, similar social media posts drew Blizzard Entertainment's attention to another problem — bots promoting casinos became active in World of Warcraft. Players continue to file complaints, and the developers confirmed that they are working on a solution to the problem.
