Zenless Zone Zero Released on PC via Steam with Enhanced Technology - miHoYo Discusses Shader Compilation and Ray Tracing
Developers have implemented modern technologies into the game.
On June 17, not only did the Zenless Zone Zero 3.0 update “Somnambulist's Confession” release, but also the Steam version of the game. Previously, the project was distributed on this platform through its official website and the Epic Games Store.
Along with this update, modern technologies were implemented in Zenless Zone Zero. miHoYo (HoYoverse) stated that the global illumination system and the detail of distant models on PC have been improved.
The developers also noted that devices with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 20 series graphics cards and higher (equipped with RT Core ray tracing cores and at least 8 GB of video memory) now support ray tracing. Additionally, support for frame generation and super-resolution based on DLSS/FSR3 has been added.

The creators of Zenless Zone Zero answered a number of frequently asked questions regarding this update. For example, they explained that when the game is first launched in DX12 mode, shader compilation will automatically start: “This process may cause brief freezes — this is normal. We ask Proxies to be patient and wait for the compilation to complete!”
If a crash occurs during shader compilation, the developers suggest using the recovery tool in the launcher interface to restart shader compilation.
If a player wants to enable ray tracing, they are recommended to activate DLSS super-resolution technology: “this will improve image quality and achieve smoother and more comfortable control.”
Players are advised to update their NVIDIA graphics card drivers to version 591.86 (release date: 27.01.2026) or higher. Playing with outdated drivers may cause graphics display or compatibility issues.
