Xbox Has No Plans for Post-Release Content for Halo: Campaign Evolved
Halo Studios has revealed new details about Halo: Campaign Evolved, confirming the absence of a number of popular features at launch and effectively ruling out plans for further expansion of the game after release.
During a large-scale Q&A session on Halo Waypoint, the developers announced that the remake will not feature Photo Mode or Theater Mode. As an alternative for creating spectacular screenshots, players will be offered a combination of the Blind Skull modifier, which hides the interface and weapons, and the Acrophobia Skull, which allows free flight through the level.
However, the studio emphasized that the wording about the absence of "current plans" theoretically leaves room for future changes. But at the moment, the team does not intend to release any additional content after the game's launch.
According to the developers, Halo: Campaign Evolved focuses exclusively on re-imagining the campaign of the original Halo: Combat Evolved and adding three new story prequel missions. Story expansions, new Skull modifiers, additional customization elements, or Firefight mode are not planned. The project will also not be a live-service game with regular content updates.
Another feature of the release strategy will be the absence of a demo version. Instead, players are offered to pre-order the premium edition, which will grant access to the game five days before the official release. The extended edition will cost $70. In addition to early access, it includes additional skins, a digital art gallery, and a collection of materials on the game's history.
Halo: Campaign Evolved will be released on July 28.
