"Chainsaw Man" brought Tatsuki Fujimoto worldwide fame, but his creativity is not limited to this.
Amazon Prime Video has announced the release of the anime anthology Tatsuki Fujimoto 17-26, which adapts eight short stories created by the manga artist between the ages of 17 and 26.
The anthology covers a wide range of genres: a post-apocalyptic drama about the connection between two survivors, stories about teenage experiences and self-discovery, a romantic comedy in a science fiction vein, a psychological story about an obsessed killer, a touching tale about the love between a boy and a mermaid, and others.
Six studios were involved in the adaptation: ZEXCS, Lapin Track, GRAPH77, 100studio, Studio Kafka, and P.A.WORKS. Seven directors are participating in the production, including Tetsuaki Watanabe ("Blue Lock"), Nobuyuki Takeuchi ("Fireworks"), and Kazuaki Terasawa ("The Ancient Magus' Bride").
Fujimoto noted that the adaptation of his early works was an unexpected experience for him.
"I was nervous when my student works began to be adapted into anime. I doubted whether they relied too much on someone else's inspiration. But, although I haven't seen the result yet, I believe that thanks to the talented directors, they have become complete and high-quality works."
The premiere of Tatsuki Fujimoto 17-26 is scheduled for November 8, 2025.
