Russian premiere of the movie "Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle" will take place on September 18
The first part of the final trilogy of "Demon Slayer", also known as "Blade of Demon Destruction", will reach Russian cinemas a week after the start of international distribution.
The animated film "Blade of Demon Destruction: Infinity Castle" will be released in Russia on September 18. This is the first part of the final trilogy based on the manga by Koyoharu Gotoge, which will complete the story of Tanjiro Kamado and his associates.
The plot continues the journey of Tanjiro, who, along with his allies, enters into a decisive battle against Muzan Kibutsuji. The heroes have to make their way through the very castle of demons — the mysterious and ever-changing "Infinity Castle".
Haruo Sotozaki once again directed the film, and ufotable studio is responsible for animation and screenplay. The film receives rave reviews from viewers — they praise not only the visual level, but also the emotional richness of the events.
The premiere in Japan took place on July 18. In 38 days, the film attracted more than 20 million viewers and grossed about $191 million, surpassing "Titanic" in box office receipts and taking third place in the history of Japanese film distribution.
According to the latest data, international box office receipts (at the time when the film was only running in Southeast Asia) exceeded $282 million. According to analysts, the film has every chance to break the record of the previous film in the franchise — "Demon Slayer: Mugen Train", which grossed $507 million — and become the highest-grossing anime in history.
The full-fledged worldwide release starts on September 12.
The second part of the trilogy is expected in 2027.
