A well-known insider previously reported that not only men, but also women are being considered for the role of Voldemort.
The HBO television adaptation of "Harry Potter" continues to be surrounded by casting rumors. If it was previously revealed that producers are considering both men and women for the role of Voldemort, now more specific information has appeared.
According to the Daily Harry Potter channel, the main contender for the role of the new version of the Dark Lord, known as Lady Voldemort, is British actress Tilda Swinton.
Interestingly, when the first rumors about female casting appeared, it was Swinton who was one of the few actresses whose name fans mentioned as a possible candidate. Viewers noted her dark and mysterious charisma, thanks to which the actress could convincingly embody the female version of Voldemort.
Insider Daniel Richtman, who was the first to report that both men and women are being considered for the role of Voldemort, holds the same opinion. He noted that Swinton possesses "that mysterious and powerful aura that is perfect for the image of the Dark Lord."
So far, Swinton's representatives and the series team have not commented on the actress's possible participation. HBO also neither confirms nor denies rumors that Voldemort may get a female embodiment in the new adaptation.
The premiere of the "Harry Potter" series is scheduled for 2027.
