Creators of "Rick and Morty" are already hard at work on Season 12
While viewers await the premiere of the ninth season, the "Rick and Morty" team is working on new episodes well ahead of schedule.
Scott Marder, showrunner of "Rick and Morty," revealed in an interview with ScreenRant, dedicated to the start of the ninth season, that the series' team has already progressed in development up to the 12th season, and the creators have "plans for many things."
Although such a practice is not new to the industry, for "Rick and Morty" fans, this is a good sign: production is not stagnant, and viewers can count on new seasons without long breaks. However, Marder's words do not mean that seasons 10 and 11 are already completed — work on them may be ongoing in parallel.
Meanwhile, a feature film based on "Rick and Morty" is also in development. The film will be directed by Jacob Hair, who has been working on the animated series since the fourth season.
The ninth season of "Rick and Morty" premieres on Adult Swim on May 24.
