The company continues to face difficulties and is desperately seeking ways out of the current situation.

A new wave of restructuring is coming to Ubisoft, which could affect around 380 employees. The company notified employees of the upcoming changes through an internal communication channel, explaining them as a necessity to simplify the business structure, reduce costs, and strengthen the publisher's position in the long term.

In its address, Ubisoft management noted that the changes are part of the company's ongoing transformation and are related to a review of its project portfolio. As a result, it was decided to close studios in Winnipeg and Belgrade, and to begin consultations on the restructuring of the Barcelona office. The latter is expected to focus on the development of the Rainbow Six franchise, but final decisions will be made after discussions with employee representatives.

In addition, the changes will affect Ubisoft's global publishing division. The company intends to review the structure and distribution of teams while maintaining its presence in key markets.

Some of the layoffs have already affected Ubisoft's publishing division in San Francisco, but the exact number of employees laid off has not yet been disclosed.

Currently, the estimated distribution of affected employees is as follows:

  • Ubisoft Winnipeg — 65 employees laid off, studio closing
  • Ubisoft Belgrade — approximately 100 employees will lose their jobs, studio closing
  • Ubisoft Barcelona — 51 employees will be laid off
  • Rainbow Six Siege team — approximately 120 employees will be removed from the project
  • Ubisoft San Francisco — the number of layoffs has not yet been disclosed

In its address, Ubisoft emphasized that these decisions are not related to the professional qualities of the employees and do not reflect their contribution to the company's development. Management promised to provide affected employees with the necessary support and consultations during the restructuring process.
