The first part of the Warcraft II Alliance campaign remake on the modern Warcraft III: Reforged engine has been released
Enthusiasts have refreshed the classic on their own.
Recently, a group of modders, LoreCraft Designs, announced the release of new content for their remake mod "Chronicles of the Second War." They are gradually recreating the plot and gameplay from the Warcraft II strategy game on the modern Warcraft III: Reforged engine.
Initially, they only offered players content about orcs, and this update, "Rise of the Alliance - Act 1," includes the first part of the Alliance campaign. According to the authors' vision, the project will combine "the best features of Warcraft II and III."
The Hive Workshop modification is distributed through Hive Workshop. The developers emphasize that a licensed version of Warcraft III: Reforged is required for the mod to work.
Blizzard itself continues to support Warcraft III: Reforged — updates are periodically released for the strategy game:
This is a stunning reimagining of the revolutionary real-time strategy game that laid the foundation for Azeroth's most epic stories. The new version features improved graphics, advanced social features, a matchmaking system, and other enhancements. Lead night elves, undead, orcs, and humans into battle in a classic real-time strategy game – a world of shifting alliances and eternal conflict.
Earlier this year, the company restored players' access to the classic Warcraft III (the original was removed during the release of the Reforged version of the game).
