Football fans are now trying to find a way to continue playing eFootball.

As previously announced, KONAMI left Russia and Belarus on June 15, 2026. The company ceased providing its services in these regions, while operations in other regions continue as usual:

Thank you for using KONAMI ID. We are discontinuing services in Russia and Belarus as of Monday, June 15, 2026. This notice only concerns the termination of services in Russia and Belarus; there will be no changes to operations in other regions.

KONAMI is a publisher-developer of several online projects or those including multiplayer — these fell under the restriction. The company's portfolio includes games such as: Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links, as well as the well-known football simulator eFootball.

Dissatisfied users are writing negative reviews about eFootball on Steam — fans of the football simulator lost access after hundreds or even thousands of hours played. They are also criticizing KONAMI's decision on the Steam forum.

KONAMI did not explain in the announcement why it decided to stop supporting online services now. It has not sold its games in Russia for a long time.
