Studio with Belarusian roots, creator of UFL, hit by wave of layoffs - Media

Strikerz, a studio with Belarusian roots that developed the football simulator UFL and is based in Cyprus, is undergoing massive layoffs. This was reported by App2Top, citing sources within the company.

Sources of the publication claim that problems within the studio had been accumulating for a long time. The last straw was allegedly an unsuccessful attempt to conclude a licensing agreement with FIFA. The company had planned to hold a major event during the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but after the failure of negotiations, the plans were canceled.

Earlier, it was also reported about the dismissal of a number of executives as part of a restructuring aimed at improving the game's position.

In a comment to Insider Gaming, Strikerz representatives denied reports of such massive layoffs. According to the company, the changes affected about 20% of employees.

The studio stated that they continue to support existing products, invest in the development of the UFL franchise, and follow the planned roadmap across all platforms. The company emphasized that the restructuring is related to a long-term development strategy and does not reflect on the future of UFL.
