The studio emphasized that the release is just the beginning. In an interview with Bloomberg, Ari Gibson and William Pellen spoke about plans for long-term support: new additions, updates, and game development.
The team does not feel burnout, on the contrary — it is full of ideas and energy. Gibson noted that the most interesting thing is the coming months and what can be added, and Pellen called the plans "ambitious, but real."
Team Cherry explained the length of development: the reason for the long process was not technical problems, but a unique style of work and the scale of the game. The studio consists of several people, and almost every sketch immediately got into the project, creating new cities, tasks, and characters. Gibson admitted that sometimes he had to stop new concepts in order to complete the current ones.
Hollow Knight: Silksong will be released on September 4, 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. On the day of release, the project will also be available on Xbox Game Pass.
