Money instead of simple words: Crimson Desert creators received generous bonuses after game's success
The game had a rocky launch, but over time the new title began to reveal its potential.
At launch, Crimson Desert received "mixed" reviews. Players did not appreciate some of the developers' creative decisions, complained about controls and various shortcomings.
However, the studio Pearl Abyss quickly began releasing large updates and patches that added content, improved controls, and fixed many of the issues actively pointed out in negative reviews. As a result, game sales have already exceeded 5 million copies.
Journalists from MTN reported that in honor of this milestone, each employee will receive a bonus of 5 million South Korean won (approximately 3400 US dollars or 255 thousand rubles). According to the report, the company employs 733 people, meaning about 2.5 million dollars were spent on payouts.
In April, a major update was released for Crimson Desert, after which players began to complain about significant technical problems. The developers promptly introduced several hotfixes that address gameplay mechanics, controls, and more:
- Fixed an issue where the darkening of some cutscenes in the shop was slowed down.
- Fixed an issue where part of the interface of fish and leather shops was displayed incorrectly.
- [Keyboard/Mouse] Fixed an issue where an unselected value in Other > Video > HDR Settings was changed.
- [Keyboard/Mouse] Fixed an issue where it was impossible to place furniture in the house in certain situations.
- Fixed an issue where stamina was restored if the player drew or put away a weapon while sprinting.
