Russians complain about connection issues with Hunt: Showdown - Crytek explains it with "external factors"
Some players from Russia are experiencing problems when trying to play popular online games.
In May of this year, fans of the PvP shooter Hunt: Showdown 1896 from Russia began reporting problems with game accessibility. The game continues to be sold in Russia, so it was suggested that this might not have been caused by the developers' actions themselves.
The Hunt: Showdown 1896 community published a statement from Crytek — the studio conducted an investigation and concluded that the problem is indeed related to "external factors":
We have conducted a thorough investigation and can confirm: at this time, we do not observe any problems on our side that could cause such behavior. We also do not see any deviations from the usual number of players connecting to our game servers from Russia. This gives us reason to believe that for affected players, the problem may be related to external factors not related to our infrastructure.
The developers of Hunt: Showdown 1896 suggested that players who encountered problems contact support, and now their internet service provider.
Players from Russia sometimes face similar problems when connecting to servers in Escape from Tarkov, EFT: Arena, and many other online games.
