Denuvo fully cracked in Mafia: The Old Country without using a hypervisor - 9 months after PC release
The fight against the formidable DRM protection continues. Denuvo has been dealt a new blow.
Mafia: The Old Country was released on consoles and PC in early August last year. The new installment of the franchise was liked by many, but some PC gamers were put off by one nuance.
The PC version was protected using the infamous Denuvo protection system. In February of this year, the protection was cracked using the popular "hypervisor" method. Its drawback is that the DRM is bypassed, and the player has to disable PC security systems.
However, in late May, a hacker under the nickname voices38 announced the cracking of Denuvo in Mafia: The Old Country – this is a full-fledged classic crack of the protection, not a bypass.
From the chronological perspective of the franchise, Mafia: The Old Country is a prequel – players will have the opportunity to learn the story of Enzo Favara, as well as see some characters who appeared in previous games in their older years:
Enzo is ready for anything for a better life. After a harsh childhood full of forced labor, he is ready to risk everything to become a man of honor in the Torrisi crime family. His oath to the mafia, with all the power, temptations, and difficulties it entails, is a burning reminder of a simple truth: Family demands sacrifices.
