Retired Leon Kennedy, fishing and barbecue: Hideki Kamiya proposed an unusual Resident Evil

Hideki Kamiya, in honor of Resident Evil's 30th anniversary, jokingly described a "Resident not-Evil" - a peaceful game about a retired Leon Kennedy.

Hideki Kamiya, who worked on the first Resident Evil and directed the development of Resident Evil 2, congratulated Capcom on the series' 30th anniversary and jokingly once again asked for a horror-free mode to be added to the games.

After this, fans suggested he return to the franchise and make a new Resident Evil with an older Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield. One user even wrote:

You can make all the enemies look like tofu or something.

In response, Kamiya described the game he would like to create himself:

If I were to make it, it would be a game where a retired Leon spends his days in a village: fishing, gathering wild plants, baking bread, walking his dog, tending his garden, driving 50 kilometers to the nearest store, having barbecues for old friends, fixing an elderly neighbor's oven, and selling homemade lemonade at the local festival. Would that satisfy you?

Fans almost unanimously replied that they would gladly play such a game. After this, Kamiya joked again, addressing Capcom:

Capcom, it seems many people want Resident not-Evil. If you ever have time, consider such a game… I would play it myself.
