Only recently, the director had drawn a line under it, but now he is once again open to returning to the iconic trilogy.
Sam Raimi has once again given fans reason to hope. Just a few days ago, the director of the original "Spider-Man" trilogy starring Tobey Maguire said that he considered his mission complete and had no plans to return to the franchise. However, in a recent interview with the Associated Press, he unexpectedly softened his stance and admitted that he does not rule out the possibility of making another film about Peter Parker.
The conversation took place as part of the promotional campaign for Raimi's new film "Send Help". Answering a question about a potential return to "Spider-Man," the director noted that he would gladly take on the project, although he understands that priority now lies with the modern version of the hero played by Tom Holland.
"I think kids would like that. Right now Marvel is very successfully developing its own direction - with the new Spider-Man, the \"Avengers\", and other superheroes. I don't think it's right to step in and interfere with that now just to allow me to make another Spider-Man movie. But I would be happy to do it. Maybe that day will still come."
For now, the director is focused on his current projects, while fans of the franchise are focused on the near future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The premiere of "Spider-Man: Brand New Day" is scheduled for July 31, 2026.
