The creators of MindsEye have chosen a very unusual path. The head of the studio announced a new mission that should present some of the "evidence" of the alleged sabotage surrounding the release.
Build A Rocket Boy studio has announced that a story mission called "Blacklist" will appear in one of the upcoming updates. According to CEO Mark Gerhard, it contains elements that reveal clues to the alleged sabotage that affected the launch of the game.
Gerhard previously claimed that the weak start was due to "organized espionage and corporate sabotage," and the matter even reached law enforcement in the United States and the United Kingdom. Now the company wants to "tell its version of events" directly in the game. The new mission should not only expand the plot, but also show the community fragments of materials related to these accusations.
The situation looks ambiguous. MindsEye had an extremely weak start in 2025: the game was criticized for bugs and low quality, and its ratings became some of the worst in the industry. Some players are skeptical, believing that the problems are caused by production errors, not external interference.
