This version of Lara Croft will be a very confident woman.

A short documentary dedicated to the development of Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis was recently presented. Members of the Flying Wild Hog team and Alix Wilton Regan – the actress playing Lara Croft – shared their thoughts on the heroine and talked about their work.

Alix considers her Lara to be confident:

I think my Lara can afford to be “uncompromising” thanks to all the previous versions of the heroine that led to this moment – to Legacy of Atlantis, and then to Catalyst. She is elegant, strong, confident. She walks into a room knowing she has the right to be there. Lara is a living, real woman. She has a very tragic past: yes, she had many privileges, but there are many tragedies and traumas in her life. She is very, very strong. And very, very capable. [Lara] has no “insecurity.” Yes, sometimes she may doubt herself, but that's not the same as “feeling insecure.” I wanted to bring that confidence to Lara. And her intelligence – she is incredibly smart.

This mini-film includes inserts from mocap sessions (motion capture for the character):

Alix Wilton considers it a great responsibility to play the role of such a heroine:

I feel a huge responsibility stepping into the role of Lara Croft when I see “Lara Croft – Alex Walton Regan” with number one next to it on the call sheet every day. That is, essentially: Lara Croft #1 is Alex Walton Regan. This is probably the biggest project in my acting career. I think for many actors this would be the most significant event in their lives. And, whether it's Crystal, Flying Wild Hog, or Amazon – they are all really passionate about this project. And as an actress, I really enjoy feeling that. They, like me, want the project to be successful.

Previously, some gamers had complaints about Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis due to the presence of the Denuvo protection system. Developers are also criticized for using AI assets – among players, there are individuals who oppose any form of artificial intelligence involvement in development.
