Valve congratulated fans on Counter-Strike's 27th anniversary

In June, Counter-Strike fans celebrate the project's 27th anniversary. Valve also joined the celebration, publishing an address to the community on social media.

The developers thanked players for their many years of support and the content they create:

Today marks 27 years of Counter-Strike, and we're celebrating by watching the best players in the world battle it out in the "Cathedral of Counter-Strike." Thank you for playing, and thank you for watching. Thank you for your frag movies, grenade throws, funny game modes and videos, jokes and taunts, Counter-Strike lore, inside jokes only CS players understand, and for your feedback – for all of it. And most importantly – thank you for your passion for the game. You are what makes Counter-Strike the beloved first-person shooter among beloved first-person shooters. Happy Birthday, Counter-Strike!

Previously, a major update was released for Counter-Strike 2 with a collectible coin in honor of the IEM Cologne Major 2026 event. Players could make predictions – for successful predictions, the coin received upgrades.
