Meccha Chameleon Clone Released on Steam, Uses Original Name in Korea

Scribble Hunt, a clone of Meccha Chameleon, has been released on Steam, copying its gameplay and interface, and even using the original's name in the Korean version of the store.

The popularity of Meccha Chameleon has, as expected, led to the emergence of clones. One of them is Scribble Hunt, which copies the gameplay and many interface elements. Moreover, in the Korean version, the game is even called "Meccha Chameleon."

However, Scribble Hunt has several of its own mechanics. Hiding players can transform into objects, similar to Prop Hunt modes, and hunters get a choice of weapons, including an assault rifle and paint bombs. In the last 30 seconds of a match, they also gain access to infrared vision, allowing them to see all opponents. The game also features cosmetic items: skins, dance emotes, and taunts.

Interestingly, the name differs depending on the language. In Chinese, the game is called "Super Chameleon," and the Japanese name can be translated as "Drawing Hide-and-Seek." However, the Steam page in all regions uses the same promotional image with the English name Scribble Hunt. Therefore, the use of the name "Meccha Chameleon" in the Korean version seems particularly strange and may raise legal questions.
