Spider-Man film producer Amy Pascal wants to continue Peter Parker's story with Tom Holland after "New Day." In an interview with SFX magazine, she stated that she dreams of another trilogy, but for now, Sony and Marvel Studios adhere to the principle of "making one film at a time" and do not make long-term plans.
Thus, Pascal commented on the recent words of Dustin Daniel Cretton, who advised viewers to perceive "New Day" as if it could be the last Spider-Man film:
"I don't want to be presumptuous and say that a trilogy or even another film awaits us. Of course, I dream about it, but you never know for sure. Because the truth is, we have set a rule for ourselves – to make one film at a time. It is important for us that you don't have to watch one film to watch another."
Pascal had already spoken about plans for a new trilogy in 2021 before the release of "Spider-Man: No Way Home." At that time, she stated that Sony and Marvel would like to make three more films with Holland as Peter Parker. The first of these was "Spider-Man: New Day," but the fifth and sixth parts of the franchise have not yet been officially confirmed.
The new film will be released in international cinemas on July 31, 2026, and will continue the story after the events of "No Way Home," in the finale of which the whole world forgot about Peter Parker's existence after Doctor Strange's spell. In addition to Tom Holland, Zendaya and Jacob Batalon returned to their roles. The cast also included Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal, and Mark Ruffalo.
