AMD continues to expand the Ryzen 9000 lineup. The first information about the Ryzen 5 9500F processor, a budget model based on the Zen 5 architecture, has appeared.
The processor was spotted in the Geekbench 6 database. According to the leak, it will offer 6 cores and 12 threads, 32 MB of L3 cache, a base frequency of 3.8 GHz, and a boost up to 5.0 GHz. The configuration is almost identical to the Ryzen 5 9600, differing only in a slightly lower turbo boost (5.0 vs. 5.2 GHz). The main feature of the new version is the lack of integrated graphics, hence the "F" marking.
In Geekbench tests, the 9500F scored:
- Single-core: 3122 points
- Multi-core: 14369 points
For comparison, the Ryzen 5 9600 showed 3166 / 14257 points, which confirms similar performance.
The model fits into AMD's strategy of expanding the lineup: the Ryzen 7 9700F (8 cores, 16 threads) was recently announced, and now a cheaper option is available for gamers and home PCs.
The price of the Ryzen 5 9500F will likely be below $200, possibly around $179 – the price of its predecessor, the Ryzen 5 7500F.
